Plastic (PET) Bottles – White Trays Twice a Month
Please put in the designated container.
Bottles marked “PET” may be thrown away.
Including those used for drinks, soy sauce, alcohol, mirin, etc.
How to throw away PET bottles
Always remove the cap. Wash out with water. Crush the bottle by stepping on it.
White trays – White Styrofoam Trays
+Please clean before disposal. Please place both types of trays together under the net provided.
+”PET bottle”includes those used for water, juice, soda, cider, tea, and coffee as well as alcohol and soy sauce.
+Please remove the cap, wash with water, and crush before disposing of PET bottles. Plastic bottles not allowed: those used for flavorings other than soy sauce (ex. sauce), cooking oil, cleansers, shampoo, cosmetics, medical supplies, etc. (Please throw away as “Burnable garbage”.
+Please throw caps away as burnable garbage.
+Please remove any material from the trays by washing with water before disposing.
+Please throw away any trays imprinted with a mark or label as burnable garbage.
Please throw away colored styrofoam trays as burnable garbage.

Hazardous Non-burnable Garbage Once a month.
Please place into the semi-transparent bags.
Hazardous non-burnable garbage includes: lighters, spray cans, cartridge ribbons, batteries, light bulbs (incandescent and fluorescent), bladed objects (including razors), and thermometers.
*Before disposing spray can, completely empty contents and puncture the can.
Batteries: These can be thrown away on any garbage day. Please put them into the appropriate container one by one. Button style and chemical batteries should be returned to place of purchase.
+Please use City approved semi-transparent bags.
+Please throw away light bulbs in the original packaging they were bought in.
+As items like spray cans and cartridge ribbons are potentially explosive, please empty completely and puncture the shell in a safe place to expell any last bit of gas.
+Do not take apart lighters before disposal.
+Please wrap any bladed objects in newspaper before disposal.
+Absolutely do not place Hazardous Non-burnable garbage into containers for batteries.

Large-sized Garbage.
Pleasetake large sized garbage directly to the Mishima Waste disposalcenter. Proof of residence is necessary (driver’s license, insurance card, etc.) This service is limited to those living within Mishima City.
Furniture, household electrical appliances, bicycles, heaters (stoves are limited to items with each side no longer than 30cm, please ensure all fuel has been emptied before disposal.)
Operating Days and Hours
Limited to large sized garbage.
First Sunday of the month.

Weekdays (other than Sat. Sun. and Public Holiday)

The garbage that can be put out to the accumulation place besides the bulky garbage item can be carried on the weekday.

Garbage which the city cannot accept.
+Household Appliances (5 types)
Air conditioners (including outdoor type), Televisions (Braun tube type), Freezers, Refridgerators, Washing Machines
These items can be recycled by returning them to the place of purchase or by taking them to a recycle shop. There will be a recycling and a acceptance fee.
+Computers
Desktops (towers), Notebooks, Built-in display type, Displays (CRT type and LDC type) Please contact the store or the manufacturer.
+Dirt, Rock, Building blocks, Concrete, Housing materials (tatami, fusuma sliding room partitioners, shouji)
Please either dispose by yourself or else contact a specialist.
+Other (motorcycle/scooter, tires, large batteries, farm implements, agricultural chemicals, gas cylinders, fire extinguishers, pianos, fire proof safes)
Please contact a specialist business.
